I Have To Be In My Father's House

48 When His parents saw Him, they were astonished. His mother said to Him, “Son, why have You treated us like this? Your father and I have been anxiously searching for You.” 49 “Why were you searching for Me?” He asked. “Didn’t you know I had to be in My Father’s house?” (Luke 2:48-49).


Jesus was twelve years of age when this happened. He chose to stay behind in Jerusalem to learn more about the law of Moses from the expert at that time. His parents did not realize that Jesus was not traveling with them because He did not ask them for leave. When His earthly mother asked Him, “Son, why have You treated us like this? Your father and I have been anxiously searching for You.” Jesus then replied, “Why were you searching for Me?” He asked. “Didn’t you know I had to be in My Father’s house?”   .....
